Event Network used for
PopUp WiFi Solution
Slipstream + 1 x Titan
Event Overview
The purpose of the activation was to educate people about our client’s cash service. To enter our footprint, guests go through a demonstration and set up the payment app on their phone. One they enter our foot print, they receive a free slushie and get to turn the charm ball machine to get one of 12 custom charms.
This was the first time our client has done an experiential event. It was very important that attendees be able to use their phones to participate in our activation.
Producer’s Comments
“I reached out to PopUp WiFi because we have used them in the past, typically for onsite POS. What I think makes Pop WiFi so unique is their ability to gate access and secure the network. Also, their devices are so easy to ship, set-up, and activate.
We used PopUp WiFi to run all our BOH operations, as well as our lighting and team communication. We also used a QR code to allow attendees to access our Wi-Fi for 10 minutes if they needed it to complete the demo and download the app.
Working with PopUp WiFi gave us the confidence of knowing attendees could participate in the activation, even if cell service and festival Wi-Fi got overloaded.
If you are looking for portable internet that is dependable, customizable, and takes 5 mins to set up, this is the ONLY one I would choose!”

Q: What did PopUp WiFi provide at Outside Lands?
A: A single Titan unit ran back-of-house operations, lighting, and team communication, plus a gated, QR-code guest network giving attendees 10 minutes of access to complete an in-app demo and download a payment app.
Q: Why was reliable WiFi critical to this activation?
A: The activation required guests to use their phones to complete a live demo and sign up for a cash service app. With festival cell service and public WiFi prone to overload at 80,000-attendee events, a dedicated, secured network ensured guests could actually complete the action the brand needed.
Q: Why did TEAM choose PopUp WiFi?
A: Producer Taralyn Ashley cited prior use for onsite POS, the ability to gate and secure network access, and fast setup — calling it “portable internet that is dependable, customizable, and takes 5 mins to set up.”
