CONEXPO 2026: Reliable Internet for Live Robotics Demonstrations

Built Robotics created the world’s first AI-powered piling solution for safely streamlining utility-scale solar farm installations in the harsh environments of the American & Australian deserts. Erol Ahmed, Vice President of Communications at Built Robotics shared this story about their live activation.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, North America’s largest construction trade show, brings together contractors, manufacturers, technology leaders, and the workforce to showcase cutting-edge equipment, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions shaping the future of the global construction industry.

For Built Robotics, CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 represents our most significant industry event. It is a critical opportunity to engage directly with existing and prospective customers, demonstrate our latest autonomous technology, and champion the adoption of AI and robotics in real-world construction environments. As one of the few opportunities to showcase our technology to the general public at this scale, we demonstrated the strength and maturity of our technology through a live, in-person demo of our latest robot, the RPK 13 — the newest product added to our fleet of AI Piling Solutions.

We conducted four live demonstrations each day featuring our autonomous pile-kitting robot, the RPK 13. In addition, we showcased our in-house software platform, Everest, on a 23-foot LED screen, giving attendees a clear view into how our technology operates in real time.

Our live demonstration of the RPK 13 marks the first fully autonomous robotics demonstration ever presented at CONEXPO — giving attendees a firsthand look at the future of construction automation.

We used a dedicated PopUp WiFi device to provide a fast, reliable internet connection for our robot, ensuring seamless operation of our demonstrations and digital displays even within the congested network space of the Las Vegas Convention Center.”

Producer’s Comments

“At an event as massive as CONEXPO, network congestion is always a challenge. To ensure our RPK 13 demonstration ran flawlessly — and that our booth remained fully connected — we selected PopUp WiFi to deliver a high-speed, reliable solution. We selected the Beast Mach 3 with 5G connectivity and 100 foot radius. This powerful unit ensured our live demo of the RPK 13 ran with zero connectivity or latency issues. The reliability of this unit and zero configuration (just plug and play) means we can focus on what matters most — the attendees’ experience — without fussing over the intricacies of network connectivity. Without a reliable internet connection, we wouldn’t be able to communicate with our robot causing a complete failure in the live demonstration and the need to source costly and complex backup solutions. PopUp WiFi is a wonderful and communicative partner who helped us achieve CONEXPO’s first autonomous demonstration. It was vital to the success of our event, and we are incredibly grateful to the team at PopUp WiFi.” – Erol Ahmed, Vice President of Communications at Built Robotics
