Both models feature two top-of-the-range Peplink routers, with four high gain and ultra-high gain cellular modems (2 x 5G and 2 x LTE-A) that connect to a flexible and diverse combination of AT&T, T Mobile and Verizon. All PopUp WiFi models can bond any on-site internet you might have available, e.g. a fiber connection or a Starlink dish to increase overall reliability and WAN diversity.

Here's how it works...

1. The tech run is our treat.

Receive your PopUp WiFi equipment two business days before your first live stream date at no additional charge. This gives you time to get set up and connected at the site, with full support and network optimization from our engineers before showtime so there are no surprises when the heat is on. When you have your unit set up and powered on, text or call our support team and they will monitor your network performance to ensure the best combination of AT&T, T Mobile and Verizon (5G and LTE) relative to your site are giving the best bandwidth and stability available.

2. Start Slipstream.

Here you’ll find all the essential information about your event network rental in one handy spot for live insights and instant help. Scan the QR code on your unit or click the Slipstream link in your confirmation email to access your booking details including network name/s and password/s, key dates, Support information, data usage and devices connecting to your network. Monitor which devices are connected to your network and view live updates on web traffic (up and downloads) in real time.

3. WAN Smoothing.

All PopUp WiFi rentals offer optional WAN smoothing, which optimize data transmission by distributing data packets across multiple paths, reducing packet loss & latency. WAN smoothing stacks your internet reliability by sending duplicate data packets through different network paths, ensuring a more reliable connection. For live streaming producers, WAN smoothing prevents buffering, pixelation, and dropped connections during broadcasts so you can rely on your connection.

4. Bonded, not balanced.

Load balancing distributes data traffic across multiple servers or connections, enhancing reliability and resource use but potentially adding slight delays. Instead all PopUp WiFi models use internet bonding, which combines multiple network connections into a single, stronger connection, increasing bonth bandwidth and stability. For live streaming producers, bonding is often preferable due to its ability to ensure consistent, uninterrupted streaming by mitigating packet loss and jitter.

5. Avoid electrickery.

Dodgy electricity is the last thing you need to contend with during a production, so we’ve integrated battery options into our most recent range designs. You may need a handy UPS for instant failover in case of an outage, or you might need to move your unit without losing electricity, or you could be streaming from a moving vehicle – all PopUp WiFi units are compatible with standard Milwaukee and Dewalt Li Ion 18 Ah and 24 Ah batteries. Expect up to 5 hours run time on a fully-charged battery in good condition.

6. 24/7 Management.

When you rent from PopUp WiFi, you have access to our powerful live management and support from our own Peplink-qualified network engineers. This means if you call or text our team, you’ll speak with our specialists who not only support our networks – they actually build the products too. They use powerful remote management tools that allow them to log into your unit/s remotely and make active changes on the spot that will let you see changes in moments. And we promise we’ll never ask if you have tried turning it off and on again!
