Event Overview

BUTTER is a multi-day fine art fair that centers the care and economic viability of Black visual artists from Indiana and across the country. BUTTER is organized by GANGGANG as an experiment for a more equitable art industry. GANGGANG’s mission is to center Beauty, Equity and Culture in cities by activating the creative economy.

BUTTER is North America’s equitable fine art fair. Anchored in Indianapolis, BUTTER is the no-commission fair for Black artists. The goal is to sell or loan 100% of the artworks in the exhibition and grow the market of art collectors. 100% of the sales proceeds go back to the artists.

Producer’s Comments

“The footprint of our event spanned multiple buildings on the block. Logistically it would make it extremely difficult for our team to connect to different public WiFi that isn’t our own and potentially have security risks. From registration check-in, bar POS, art sales and fundraising, all stations used tablets across the fair. After considering our options, it was cool to find a company that can offer temporary WiFi routers that we could easily set up and is ready to go. The unique nature of our event made internet connection a huge concern but glad we did not have to worry.

We set up Popup WiFi in each building our event was in. The historic Stutz building, spans two buildings and the BUTTER team built out an empty warehouse across the street. We used a total of 3 buildings, and we were able to set up the PopUp WiFi units in each very easily and allowed our team to utilize our tablets across the fair without interruption.

PopUp WiFi allowed us to do the work needed to achieve our mission without any worry of not having a signal. BUTTER has the goal to sell 100% of the art works and it requires technology to keep up-to-date records and take payments. If we did not have internet connection, we would not have been able to do the work we need. Having PopUp WiFi helped our organization look very organized and put together throughout the event. I would tell anyone they do not have to worry about internet for whatever space they are using, whether that be outdoors or in unconventional spaces, PopUp WiFi is easy and ready to set-up.”
