Event Overview

The Taste of Minnesota 2023 marked a significant return after years of hiatus, transforming Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis into a bustling hub of art, food, and music. The aim of the festival was to celebrate the rich culture and community of the state, offering a diverse showcase of food vendors, along with performances from national and local musicians.

The units supplied by PopUp WiFi were used by producers and organizers to coordinate in real-time, manage social media engagement, and ensure smooth communication between vendors and artists. This coordination was crucial for the event’s success, allowing for immediate responses to logistical challenges and enhancing the festival’s promotion through live updates. For vendors, PopUp WiFi’s units facilitated the transaction processes and order management. The ability to process digital payments and track inventory in real-time helped vendors maintain a steady flow of service.

Behind-the-scenes staff, including those in logistics and security, benefited from the connectivity. They utilized online tools for crowd monitoring and emergency management, ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees. Additionally, the technical teams managing entertainment and stage presentations relied on the stable WiFi to deliver high-quality performances, with sound systems and multimedia presentations running without any connectivity issues. The real-time feedback collection from attendees further allowed organizers to tweak the festival experience on the go, ensuring that the Taste of Minnesota was not only a celebration of food and music but also a testament to the seamless integration of technology in event management.

Producer’s Comments

“The Taste of MN was revitalized this year by Minnesota Festivals LLC! The mission for bringing this event back was to make it free, safe, and accessible.

Due to the mission, it was decided to bring the event to Downtown Minneapolis, to rejuvenate a once very active scene. This proved to be successful and was the most celebrated win throughout the weekend! The outpour of gratitude and support from local businesses and neighbors has been overwhelming and so wonderful to see.

The event internet was used to supply wifi to all our vendors- food, beverage, arts, THC & sponsors. The PopUp Wifi was also used for our mainstage operations and performances.

The PopUp WiFi devices were a tremendous success! We received excellent feedback from all our partnering organizations, and we will be using it again!” – Jessie Storovich
